dawn photography in an unfamiliar country

First thing this morning, I was out for a bit of a photography wander at dawn. I got some pleasing pics along the river and off some bridges. Also, I found an Orthodox church just a stone's throw from where we're staying. A damn good start to the trip.
As I wandered back and forth around the village, I encountered some locals, including an elderly lady with one grey eye and three teeth who made a knob-turning gesture at me and seemed to be trying to tell me something. I've said it before, but I'll repeat it:If you speak three languages, you're trilingual.
If you speak two languages, you're bilingual.
And if you speak only one language, it's English.
