progress on novel manuscript

I have integrated the comments from the first reader of my novel manuscript and did another pass of the first four or five chapters, eliminating some 4,000 words in the process and adding a new insight into the main character's um character early on. To, ah, actually convey something about the fellow. Which I guess is the rage with fiction now?

So I've sent the next version on to the next would-be reader with thanks in advance.
