it's a new dawn

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2020.02.02

Every now and then I re-order my website or some part of it. A redesign, a new domain, a change in purpose or content. I've just done a bit of a big one, as follows:

1. I took the journal recently removed from michael.werneburg.ca and put it back on emuu.net.

2. I've merged into that the journal for the kids, which we'd been maintaining separately.

3. I've put it behind a login and have created user accounts for family members.

Soon, I'll add the kids' art and maybe one or two other things. But for now, we have a private journal that Mari and I and the kids can maintain. Who knows, maybe someday there will be hundreds of years of content here and our great-great-etc-grandkids will be puzzling over our antique language and wondering why we burned fossil fuels.

rand()m quote

In the wake of 9/11, we [in America] have made the decision as a society that we can never again create something in which we can take pride, for fear that someone will destroy it. Moreover, we must suppress any trace of individualism, lest someone have the desire to rise above the bland sameness that protects us. I have, alas, no idea how to recapture our courage.
