sleepless night

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2017.04.07

Every other night since my ouster, I've not slept. Makes it a bit hard to work on resumes, respond to offers of assistance in a meaningful way, etc.

In one conversation I've had in the past couple of days, we got on to the effects of low oxygen on the human brain. I couldn't help but notice that they sound an awful lot like certain workplace environments. Here's what happens when the oxygen level's reduced from its normal 20%:

12–15%: Increased pulse rate and respiration, impaired perception and judgment.

Hmmmm.

Happily, I had an invitation from a friend to go head over to his place for a drink or two after dinner.

A lot of people lose the spirit of childhood. Every child has a lot of imagination and you lose it little by little. I don't know why, but I kept it.
