earthquakes make for lousy bedfellows

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2009.12.18

Last night I was up fairly late working on various projects. I needed some quality sleep.

Instead, I was woken at around 02:30 by the laundry drying racks blowing over on the balcony. Then an hour later by little Kenny, who insisted on sleeping with us. Then at around 04:30 there was an earthquake that rattled Mari and me awake (but not Kenny). And after that I couldn't go back to sleep. Yaargh.

You have to choose between trusting to the natural stability of gold and the natural stability of the honesty and intelligence of the members of the Government. And, with due respect for these gentlemen, I advise you, as long as the Capitalist system lasts, to vote for gold.
