bison steak

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Okotoks, 2002.04.27

I had bison steak today at a place in Okotoks which, fifteen years ago, had been the Lazy L. The place we always went to with the gliding crowd at Cu-Nim when they were heading into town. Mmmm, Bison steak. It was good; nice amount of fat; tasted somewhat like beef but tougher and 'gamey'.

It sure was an amazing night for wildlife. We saw an owl with a wingspan of maybe a metre just on the southern edge of the town about half an hour after sunset. And there seemed to be a pack of coyotes tearing into something just out of sight south of the highway; I've never heard so many of the things!

Well, someone once told me that life is divided in three parts: at first, you have time and inclination but lack money. Then, you have money and inclination but lack time. Finally, you have money and time but lack inclination. :-)
