twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2001.07.14

Today, we went and saw a flick. My first movie in a cinema in well over two months (gotta be a record, given that I probably paid for the renovation of the Varsity cinema single-handedly through constant attendance of whatever crap they'd put out).

Then we met up with Lisa Onisto, my mom, and Sarah Thorpe for excellent Italian food at a place called Gio's on Yonge St. @ Eglinton. No sign outside the place, just a giant nose on the wall... Very good food.

Then it was off to Rak and Wak to meet Gord (a good three-year flashback), Jo, Geoff (and Mariko) for drinks until 2. Mmmm, drinks until 2.

rand()m quote

For a long time I was very bitter that the people who controlled the means of anybody ever hearing my songs were never gonna play them. They only favored music that I specifically and particularly hated, and I wanted them dead. Suddenly, there was another avenue. I started hearing my stuff coming out of bars and then it started to happen little by little -- a movie song here or a TV ad there.
