movie review - The World is Not Enough

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Sydney, 2000.08.12

Man. This flick was actually not bad for a Bond film, even if we do lose my favorite recent recurring gangster. But the two lead females! What was the director thinking. It's paint-by-numbers Bond and simply goes through the motions. Brosnan's toughened up a bit, which is good, but the waste of Robert Carlyle and the overall feeling of clumsiness and mishandled material is inescapable.

Not recommended.
