movie review - Cidar House Rules

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Sydney, 2000.08.12

Again with Tobey MacGuire. Lucky for us this fellow can act. This is a flick about a young orphan who leaves the orphanage to find his fortune, and winds up picking apples on a farm near the ocean. There he learns something of life.

It's an easy-paced story about human things. Not bad, but not terribly noteworthy.

Recommended.

rand()m quote

It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.
