movie review - Riff Raff

This was a disappointing "comedy" about a family that is embroiled in gangster business .. because the father/husband was a long-time hitman in the underworld. The plot is too grim for the absurdist storytelling to come off, and at least one of the characters is unable to shake that. There are very few likable characters in this story, and I found that getting in the way -- along with the constant tonal changes and the nagging impression that something was annoying the actors. In the end; unconvincing.
Not recommended.
P.S. This is the second movie in a row I've watched in which Ed Harris played the father of an Africa-American child. The other one was much better.
