The word from "sky blue" in Japanese is "mizuiro". The pronunciation and the kanji, literally mean "water color". Not as in the painting medium, but "the color of water".

So remember, the kanji 水色 may literally mean (and be pronounced) "water color", but the actual meaning is "sky blue".
