kanji studies progress (yet again)

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-eight years and a million words

Kokubunji, 2024.12.22

As I've mentioned earlier this month, I'm using this tool called Wanikani to study Japanese kanji and vocabulary. Today again I managed to complete (or "burn") another seven characters and words that it had been throwing at me.

Again; whenever I "burn" some, I then go back into my dashboard and start lessons on new characters to keep the whole thing going. I've been at this for sixteen months and I'm still on level five but it's somewhere. I really believe it's helping with my grammar studies, overall comprehension, and to a lesser extent my ability to speak. For instance, I have a colleague who is on level 22 and can perform music in Japanese.

rand()m quote

I like my buddies from west Texas. I liked them when I was young, I liked them when I was middle-age, I liked them before I was president, and I like them during president, and I like them after president.
