car subscription

We've "subscribed to a car". It's a plan called Kinto offered in Japan by Toyota. The car is a four-door, cylinder family runabout called a Sienta that appears to be available only in Japan and a handful of other markets across the Indo-Pacific. I dislike driving, particularly in Tokyo, but we're using car share all the time now, especially for The Boy's basketball games. What I like about the car is the great visibility from the driver's chair, the roomy rear end, and the foldaway 6th and 7th seats for when a grandparent or two are visiting or there are extra giggly eleven year olds. I can fit my bicycle into the rear should the need arise.
This 'subscription', basically a three-year rental, means we build no equity but also that we do not pay insurance or maintenance, and that any repairs needed at the end do not come out of our pocket as they would with a lease.
