house browsing
the journal of Michael Werneburg
twenty-seven years and one million words
We looked at a house in Kunitachi, today. Or rather, we wound up seeing three in a new construction project. I learned that the city was more or less formed to be an educational suburb when it was all still farmland. They don't allow gambling halls (pachinko), bars, hotels, or theaters. We really liked one of the designs, and we're going to try to make some semblance of a strategy for the next few years and decide whether buying in Tokyo makes sense. Happily, we have the initial news that with my salary and savings they think we'd qualify for a manageable mortgage.
