movie review - Dungeons and Dragons

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2023.01.23

There's a new Dungeons and Dragons movie coming out, and it looks pretty good. I mean, it's got an owlbear. I thought, "Why did I never watch the original?" and tried to watch it. I could live with the terrible graphics, it's an old movie. I could live with the uneven acting, cheap sets, and tedious plot. But to see Richard O'Brien seemingly struggling to keep his temper with the whole thing was too much. I gave up.

Not recommended. Avoid.

(P.S. To think that they had O'Brien and Jeremy Irons and this is how it worked out. Dang.)

(P.P.S. I think I missed its original release because I was living in Australia which .. gets different movies.)
