movie review - Greenland

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2022.06.15

Apocalypse now! It's the end of the world, and to survive a small but fractured family must get to Greenland. It's every man, woman, child and Gerard Butler for himself!!!

The movie is not unintelligent, and deals with a variety of plausible aspects of a world where everyone realizes only a small fraction of the populace is going to survive. Chaos on the streets and highways, an out-of-control military over-reacting, and desperate acts of every kind dog their tracks as they attempt to get away. Questions of what kind of world will survive the apocalypse, survivor's guilt, and all the usual psychological ramifications come along for the ride. And did I mention over-loaded small aircraft?

Recommended.

The problem is not people being uneducated. The problem is that people are educated just enough to believe what they have been taught, and not educated enough to question anything from what they have been taught.
