There, I said it. It's got me reading about system-on-a-chip and ARM. This is a talk by Sophie Wilson of ARM fame. She talks about the problem with modern core-focused designs. She says that in current multi-core systems that 50% of the cores are actually disabled at any one time lest the chip melt.
