counting flights

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Kokubunji, 2021.08.05

A couple of weeks ago I was having trouble sleeping and decided to count all the times I'd flown. I got to around 120, but I realized I don't really know how many times I flew between Calgary/Toronto, Halifax/Toronto, Tokyo/Toronto, and Tokyo/Miyazaki. It's a lot easier to remember the others. Once when on business in San Francisco (from Sydney, NSW) I realized that a lot of the people on the plane were regular commuters!

Anyway, it didn't work. Back to Buddhist chants as a knock-out remedy.

When I look back at life I see that I kept the good scotch to myself. I regret that. Pour the good scotch for your guests.
