Mari's done a stellar job of X'mas as with everything this year. It's our first year with a phony tree but I for one don't really miss the mess and expense and I suspect that growing trees for single use and disposal is going to go away in the climate changey future.
Tonight, "Aunt" Yagu is coming over to spend X'mas with us. Sadly, The Girl still has to go to school but happily I've the day off tomorrow and the sixty-hour weeks are over.
It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.
