stepping back twelve years

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2019.12.12

Today I met with a fellow Canadian in the lobby of a life insurance firm where I worked when Mari and I were first living together. Technically, that firm (ING Life Japan) was sold off by its parent financial conglomerate and the surviving entity today (Nationale Nederlanden) is a new entity. But I was there to talk about a role that had opened up with there firm and it felt like a big step back in time.

Happily, the meeting went very well. There will be more discussions, I was assured by our countryman.

I'm glad that I brought the suit.
