bikes made in Toronto

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2014.05.27

I've noticed some new brands of bikes around, of late; it turns out there are two new bike manufacturers in Toronto. One's Simcoe bikes, the other's called Gallant. They've both got two offerings, and those two offerings are surprisingly similar across the two brands (if indeed they are separate operations).

I wish these local businesses well. The frames all look much too small for me, but the designs are perfect for the city with the designs featuring light frames, sturdy tires, and gear assemblies ranging from single-speed up to 7-speeds.

I've noticed men riding step-through frames, recently, and welcome the development.

rand()m quote

Remove everything that has no relevance to the story. If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it's not going to be fired, it shouldn't be hanging there.
