another event, another speaker

This time it was a mutual fund industry event, and the speaker was the Ontario minister of finance. The man has an amazing ability to speak so smoothly that his sentences never seem to end but rather flow together in a long stream. It doesn't sound like babble or stream-of-consciousness, however, just a smooth flow.
The surprising thing I learned at this conference: mutual funds alone (e.g. excluding segment funds, index funds, and everything else) have become a $900B plus monster in this country. Which answers the question that's always puzzled me: why do mutual fund dealers have their own regulator. It's all the cash sloshing around....
