so it's muscular

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2013.10.08

Today I learned from my physiotherapist that a long-standing discomfort I've been putting up with is not a side effect of a surgery I had six months ago, but of a lifetime of slothful lazing about in front of computers. It turns out that some muscles that connect my spine with my legs have become shortened and tensed up.

To demonstrate, he stuck his fingers down into my belly, past the flabby muscles and internal organs, and started probing the muscles that line the inside of my back. Ooof!

rand()m quote

The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to such a pass that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love, and in order to occupy and distract himself without love he gives way to passions and coarse pleasures, and sinks to bestiality in his vices, all from continual lying to other men and to himself.

—Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
