twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2013.01.26

We had a damn busy day, today. I made pancakes and went to pick up a rental car while Mari plowed through a substantial amount of snow to take The Boy to Japanese class using the three-wheel "sport" stroller that someone gave us. I returned to the apartment, did some aquarium maintenance, put the kids' seats into the car, and joined them at the school to mind The Girl while Mari did her volunteer chores (this being her turn). Then we picked up and ate lunch, and packed up everything into the car for the weekend.

First it was tobogganing with friends at Riverside Park. It was awesome; The Boy did his first run without a parent (with his friend Manami) and then did a few more with the other small children. Soon he was doing solo runs and got good - effortlessly riding three hundred meter runs. We followed that up with hot chocolate at the home of one of the other families—something we don't do enough!

Then we got ourselves into the car and got down to St. Catharines for dinner and some wine tasting at my mum's place, and I passed out while Mari and "Grandma" put up the decorations for The Boy's birthday.

Whew.
