the Beaches was crazy today

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2012.05.21

We tried—and failed—to get together with some friends in Toronto's car-choked Beaches area today.

The problem was parking. On a sunny Springtime holiday at the cusp of Summer, everyone without a cottage to run to was in the neighbourhood. With their cars.

It's like they say: Toronto's got a great transit city for 1 million people; but it's got 5.8 million residents.
