spring time is for machetes

Today I hacked at several trees on our property with a machete.
We can now walk up to the bicycle shed in the back of the property, something that became impossible during the explosive Spring-time growth thanks to all of the rain. And I can get out of the front door without doing the limbo. And the squirrels have one fewer road to our balcony.
We're still in danger of losing our power lines (which are in contact with tree branches at several points) and our phone lines (for the same reason), but I couldn't reach those and probably shouldn't try to swing a machete at them in any case!
