Kenny's not happy with me for being away for so long. So I'm going to buy his forgiveness. With toys.
For X'mas, he's getting a turntable and a small toy train for his growing wooden train set. But when we meet at the train station in Tokyo on Friday, I'll hand him toy versions of two of his favourite characters from a "Thomas" movie called "Hero of the Rails", which he watches incessantly. The characters are "Spencer" (the bullying villain) and "Hiro", the title character and fittingly a Japanese train.
