juggling

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2009.03.16

I'm getting better at juggling. While my usual juggling routine goes like "one, two, oh ####" (thump), I'm occasionally able to catch about a dozen throws, and once in a while get beyond that.

In time I might write something more about learning to juggle, but for now I'll just say this: my muscles are aching a lot more than I'd expected they would from a non-active activity. Kinda embarrassing to find that chasing after dropped balls can lead to the use of old, flabby muscles around your ribs or in your butt etc.

I'm doing this to entertain my son, and my efforts were met with a good deal of laughter when I showed him for the first time this afternoon. He and Mari were away for the weekend, but he immediately understood that I was doing something "fun".
