keyboard

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2008.09.09

For the first time that I can recall, I spilled a big cup of water on myself while at my desk last night. Some of it splashed into my camera bag, but the majority landed in my lap, where my keyboard was. I shook it out, wiped it down, and set it on its side before going to bed.

This morning the spacebar's not working. Sigh.

In stead, I'm using one of the flimsy Japanese-language keyboards I'd picked up upon arrival in Japan. It is *very* difficult to use. On the plus side, I'm not looking at the keys as I type -- there's no point in doing so, since so many are in the wrong spot.

But I hope my Model M is okay. I'm really surprised that it's susceptible to water spills, given that each key is shielded by plastic.

rand()m quote

A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs, and knowledge slowly accumulated in the course of centuries, elements difficult at times to justify by logic, but justifying themselves as paths when they lead somewhere, since they open up for man his inner distance.
