twenty-seven years and one million words

Tokyo, 2008.02.28

Today my website logged its 2.5 millionth page request, excluding images, my own edits, and assorted junk like CSS. That's a lot of reading.

Of course, it's not all that much when you consider that it's been online since September of '98, but hey, it's over 700 views a day. It's been a long time since I had that kind of regular traffic, but I think that's because the Internet's grown so much that a single personal home page has doodly/squat relevance now. Or maybe it's Facebook that's capturing all that traffic. I'll carry on, regardless.

My grandfather once told me that there are two kinds of people: those who work and those who take the credit. He told me to try to be in the first group; there was less competition there.
