packing by day, music by night

twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2007.09.19

We spent the whole day sorting out the stuff in my storage unit. In addition to the teak tables, it seems that I'll be sending a dozen or so boxes full o' junk to Tokyo.

I also managed to find a good home for my bike and my "old" monitor (by which I mean the then-year-old monitor that went into storage when I left).

I'm shipping it all with an outfit that I found online. It's going to take a dog's age to get out there, but that's to be expected when you're crossing a large continent and the largest ocean in the world.

Tonight we went to the Orbit Room to see LMT Connection play. My mum was unable to go due to a migraine, but for Ken and me it was another in a string of shows going back to '92 or so. It must have been a dozen shows for Sailor Yoon, too. For Mari it was the first show, of course.

Apparently the baby was kicking up a storm throughout.

I bought a couple of CD's to support the band and to bring their music with me back to Japan. They're likely rarities on this side of the globe, I reckon.

rand()m quote

The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to such a pass that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love, and in order to occupy and distract himself without love he gives way to passions and coarse pleasures, and sinks to bestiality in his vices, all from continual lying to other men and to himself.

—Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov
