Shizuoka is warm

Shizuoka is two prefectures over from the greater Tokyo area. It's where Fuji, the famous mountain, is.
We went to Shizuoka to visit with Mari's family. It was 25oC and sunny all weekend, which surprised Mari's family members but which was a real shock to those of us who'd emerged from constant cloud and rain in Tokyo.
I love to get away from the city once and a while. To remind myself that there's a natural world out there somewhere!
Unfortunately, on the weekend trip I had to participate in a number of work calls (even at 2AM), but such is the nature of an IT career.
P.S. Astonishingly enough, I was able to get through a visit to a bird sanctuary without getting crapped on!
