twenty-seven years and one million words

Toronto, 2005.05.14

Today I picked up an MP3 player for my girlfriend. Some brand name from Korea I'd never heard of "XDrum". It has a fairly good interface (one of the tiny joystick designs) and display and very good sound.

Then I bought myself a belt clip for my ancient Fido. Well, it's ancient in cell phone years at three years and change, now. Anyway, $30 for a clip so that I don't pocket dial my brother in Vancouver or the 911 people (or, for some reason, one or two individuals with whom I rarely speak otherwise, but who have numbers that my phone naturally dials when in my front pocket).

my girlfriend was well pleased with the MP3 player. And we'll leave it at that.

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.
