new grill

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

When Jon left for Tokyo last weekend, he left a small thank you note and a gift certificate for "Williams Sonoma", a store I'd only ever set foot in once or twice before. I took one look at the place, and realized that this was Jon's way of specifically thanking my girlfriend for putting him up, which was nice of him.

my girlfriend saw about a thousand things she thought she might be able to use. But in the end the choice was easy. We have a new indoor grill.

Tonight, I grilled pork chops that my girlfriend prepared with garlic and rosemary. They were fine indeed. Eating things like steaks and chops is always more fun when they have those singe lines on them.

Capitalist production, therefore, only develops the techniques and the degree of combination of the social process of production by simultaneously undermining the original sources of all wealth – the soil and the worker.
