Tonight I saw an ad on TV that had a woman burbling the line "There's something to be said for instant gratification" in a non-ironic fashion. It was an ad for digital cameras.
Happily, I spent the last two hours of sunlight today photographing the city with my non-instant-gratifying analog camera that dates to the 70's. When the things didn't require batteries to operate, meaning that I could take photos in the -18C weather. I went down along the Northwest arm, and took photos of fences and snow long shadows and the water.
