my shoulder is bloody, for once

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Halifax, 2004.01.13

Tonight was the first hour-long session at the Tai Chi place. There were eight of us. They run it so that the first night is free. We'll be learning a 108-move program.

I wore my lightweight 'camping' pants and long underwear beneath that, and an old printed T-shirt in an effort to be flexible and whatnot.

We didn't do any warm ups, which I found strange. Also, there was also none of the instruction about Chi and the points in the body where your body's strength is centred and all of that. So, it's essentially a course on getting the motions down, it seems.

But I could feel the blood getting into my shoulder, which was good.
