turkey vultures circling Toronto

I was at the reference library working on a short story today, when I noticed three turkey vultures circling low over some green space just to the north. It was a rather disturbing sight for the middle of the city. I wonder what the saw. Or smelled - apparently they can smell things from kilometers away....
