failing to impress waitresses

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Vancouver, 2002.02.02

I managed to fail to impress the waitress at my somewhat-regular lunch spot, today. It was about 2 PM when I shuffled in, and I was complaining of a hangover. She made sympathetic sounds until I admitted that I'd just be climbing back into the saddle again tonight when my buddy Charlie arrives.

I failed to learn whether we're looking at eight more weeks of winter.
