novel progress

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

Sydney, 2000.11.15

Hmm, not many entries of late - days seem to slide by between entries! This weather is probably to blame. I've passed the hump in my story, and believe I'm on the last bit to actually completing the bare-bones telling of the story. I've passed the 50,000 word mark at this fourth attempt novel-writing. Not my windiest, but I believe it's the best stuff so far.

rand()m quote

A civilization is a heritage of beliefs, customs, and knowledge slowly accumulated in the course of centuries, elements difficult at times to justify by logic, but justifying themselves as paths when they lead somewhere, since they open up for man his inner distance.

—Antoine de Saint-Exupery
