rain rain, we'll go away

Rain. More effing rain. It's been about a month of solid rain, after three or four glorious winter months of sun. Damn strange place, this Southern Hemisphere. Never expected rain in Alice Springs when we got there, either (let alone fog!?).
We've got our return tickets to end the first era in Australia. It took an hour in the Air NZ shop to get the tickets. An hour. The entire thing went none-too-smoothly, and I won't record the details or I'll get pissed with Air NZ all over again. Suffice it to say we'll be pleased to return to Canada, where not every encounter with a customer service individual leaves you needing a drink!
