The basket on The Boy's bike rusted into a mess that fell apart. The base was still secured to his rack, however, so today I finally attempted to remove the screws holding it down.
But they had become rusted into the frame of the basket and were fixed in place. So I spent some time trying to prize open the various bars that make up the base. The light was fading even as I started, and with darkness came rain, so I gave up.
I'll try again in the morning.
