a university in Toronto
We got out the door at shortly before 06:00 this morning and ditched the car at the Burlington GO station to make the trek into the city by the time of The Boy's 09:00 appointment with a 'recruitment' consultant at the University of Toronto. Then we had a two-hour tour of the school, much as we had yesterday. It was a very nice counterpart to Waterloo's suburban campus, and I was a bit surprised that I knew more of the buildings than I would have guessed. But I realized that from 2011-2019, I had nine years of meetings, seminars, night courses, conferences, and so on somewhere in that warren of buildings.
We had lunch with Señor Sleeuw and his daughter Kii, who is basically like a cousin to my kids. Then it was time for yet another trek on the Lakeshore West line. At Burlington GO station we hopped back into our "Bronco" and I somehow stayed awake for the whole drive home. One way I managed this was veering out of the way of a certain Honda driver who decided to cross three lanes into where we were driving. My "defensive driving" training from the mid 1980s somehow resurfaced and I avoided him without a scratch. 😥
