movie review - Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person

This is a Quebec vampire flick about a young man who falls in love with an ageless and non-killing vampire. The tension primarily exists between her and her family, who despair at her not yet killing though she's an adult (around fifty, from memory, but appearing in her early twenties). She had an older sister and a mother who are killing machines, and a father who dotes on her -- arguing for her support despite her refusal to kill.
It all ends in bloodshed, of course. I regret that the ending gets away from the writer(s)/director. Until the last ten minutes I believed/hoped that this was going somewhere authentic/satisfying but it instead slid into less than that.
