Today's interesting Japanese word is しぐさ(shigusa), which means "gesture". The kanji of course are:

仕草
They mean "do" and "grass". So in Japanese to gesture is to do as the grass? I guess if you've committed to the most ornate form of writing ever known to man, you might as well get lyrical.
