surprisingly late sunrise

I went out walking with my camera for an hour prior to sunrise. I was surprised that the sun still wasn't up well past 07:00. I guess I'm conditioned by Tokyo being at the eastern end of its time zone. Anyway, I'm well pleased with the pics. I have one of a priestess ringing a bell that was a long curved strip of metal hanging from the outer church wall. I imagine it was a call to prayer (or for the sun to rise).
