after the summit
the journal of Michael Werneburg
Today, the workplace summit for which I'd traveled to Bucharest came to an end. A course of action had been decided based on some significant investments by everyone involved. It was rather cathartic to have it done, and to be faced with the realities of managing my team remotely and then the 35 hour trip home. I was glad to have supported the effort as a neutral third-party from a distant country not involved in the matter at hand, and glad to be told that I can still add some value during the follow-up. It's not the shortest inter-continental trip I've taken, but the record-holder was twenty-five years ago and this is the first since then to include such a summit vibe.
Two of us are remaining in Bucharest for another day, so we went out in the city for dinner and I took some pics in the waning day.
