introducing Cheeky and Sneaky

the journal of Michael Werneburg

twenty-seven years and one million words

These are Cheeky and Sneaky, the two goldfish we kept from the three hundred eggs that hatched on April ten. It's been four months and a day. The name "Cheeky" comes from the one orange cheek on that fish. "Sneaky" was chosen by The Girl to rhyme with Cheeky.

I'm going to leave the algae growing to keep the water stable and to provide food between meals.
