The heater in Emma's aquarium went crazy and drove the temperature to nearly 40 degrees. It was too much for poor Tuco the dwarf plecostomus. I'd noticed that the water was too warm on Friday and took action to restore normal temperature. I then activated the heater again thinking perhaps it had just been too far exposed on Friday. But by this evening I realized that that had been a fatal mistake.
