fukuoka is for burgers

Fukuoka is known for its outstanding fresh fish (even by Japan's standards) but also for a form of ramen. But for me, I find it a reliable source of some of the country's best hamburgers. And so it was tonight, in which I trekked to a new (to me) place called "The Basket" and walked in telling them in Japanese, "Good evening, I have a question..." and then singing my sorry tale of wheat allergy. They invented a solution on the spot.
I notice lots of Chinese and Korean tourists in Fukuoka these days. The historically low yen is the reason, I expect. The more the merrier, I say. Yes, it's a longer wait in line at the drug store, but the watering holes are more fun.
