so this is kidney stones

twenty-seven years and one million words
My poor Mari had to take me to the hospital tonight. I'd had a curious batch of unprecedented symptoms including pain coming from what felt like my kidney. I put 2 + 2 together and realized that with my sex and age it was surely kidney stones. And we got to the hospital just in time because as soon as we'd arrived I was in real trouble. It was so bad I couldn't stop pacing because sitting, standing, and lying down were all out of the question.
Two hours later, we were out of there with the knowledge that I had one kidney stone still way up where it had formed, and another that had ground its way through my ureter and was in fact almost to my bladder by the time of the CT scan. I was loaded up on different pain killers and somehow left my keys in the place.
May the fourth be with you, friends.
